the Grand Canyon via the Bright Angel Trail

Indian
Gardens Campground
lies on the Bright Angel Trail 4.6 miles from the south
rim of the Grand Canyon. A small creek runs throught the
campground on its way to the Colorado River. Cottonwood
trees, which can be seen from the rim, shade the campground.
This is an ideal resting place for those hiking in or out
of the canyon. There is a small herd of deer that call the
surrounding area home, and park rangers insist that you
do not feed them any food. Hiking time from the rim is approx
2 hours. hiking time out from Indian Gardens to the rim
is approx. 4 hours. The closest services is Grand Canyon
Village at the top of the rim.
